And now here i am.
Things i've learnt from/in 2012:
1.
Never doubt yourself. Want to try something new? Just do it. Even if you fail, it still beats that feeling of constantly wondering what the outcome would've been if you tried.
2.
I learnt how to play the guitar! *achievement unlocked* . Months of sitting in my room everyday to practice is showing it's results. I'm still far from being what can be considered as a 'guitarist' but hey, taking baby steps here. Plus I'm finally plucking up the courage to perform in front of people and not just my stuffed animals.
3. I discovered how amazing
STARBUCKS is. I'll miss my 5hour mugging sessions at United Square's Starbucks with my caramel frapuccino. Good times, good times.
4.
I can dance! Well, almost. I just need tons of practice.
5.
SUPPORT LOCAL TALENT! Yes there are amazing local musicians out there, you've just gotta find em' at the right places eg: youtube.
6.
I HATE BEES.
7.
Eat and exercise regularly. Starving yourself isn't going to help in weight loss whatsoever. Plus it's added stress.
8. You have got to accept the fact that not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever.
9.
ED SHEERAN IS AMAZINGGGGG.
10.
It doesn't matter if you fail, what matters is that you never stop trying.
11.
Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter.
Here's my resolutions/goals for the year:
- Get into a poly course of my choice.
- Write songs.
- MUST. LOSE. WEIGHT.
- Learn music theory.
- Do well in POLY.
- Try out vlogging? hmmmm..
- Learn how to dance.
- Learn American sign language.
- Draw closer to God.
I am glad that I managed to survive 2012. I started out the year with a really pessimistic mindset, thinking i was probably one of the most useless 18-year old in the world. While all my friends went on to their next phase of education, i was stuck with O's, all because I couldn't pass Math and Science. Eventually, I saw it as a blessing in disguise. 2012 was almost like a gap-year for me. I had time to explore more about the things I love like music and the arts for example. Of course, i studied my butt off, making sure that i wouldn't repeat the same mistakes as last year. Safe to say i think i might actually pass with good grades this time!
I have had my ups and downs this year but it's the people around me that kept me going. No words can describe how thankful i am for
God, my family and friends. Thank you so so much for being there when i needed you. Yes i can be pretty childish and short tempered at times but no matter what ya'll loved me for who i am and stood by me. (honestly i have no idea how you guys do it lol. Even I hate me!)
. I am truly blessed. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Okay gotta end my blog post here, my family's going to have a little steamboat later on so i gotta
prepare myself to EAT ALL THE FOOOOOOOD! (update: done with both lunch and dinner. One word to describe the food: YUMMMMZ.)
